Marc van Gelder (1961) after graduating in business economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), went on to complete an MBA at the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania, USA).
Per 1 December 2005 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Mediq. Before joining Mediq on 1 January 2005, he has held positions at McKinsey & Company and Royal Ahold. Marc has extensive and international experience in the fields of retail marketing, logistics, IT, strategy and line management.
Marc has been a member of the Board of Management of Mediq since 1 January 2005. In addition to his activities as CEO at Mediq, Marc is also non-executive board member at retail companies Maxeda (active in the Benelux) and Action (active in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, member of the advisory board 3i Benelux, vice- president of the management board of GIRP (the umbrella organisation of pharmaceutical full-line wholesalers in Europe), board member of The Netherland-America Foundation in New York and member Board of Trustees Paleis Het Loo.
Marc is married and has two children.
