• Mediq acquires company seconding nursing personnel

As from today, Mediq has acquired Medisource, a company seconding mainly nursing personnel. Mediq is increasingly delivering pharmaceuticals and medical supplies directly to people in home care situations, often in combination with advice and instruction by nursing personnel. The acquisition of Medisource ties in with Mediq’s strategy to expand services at people’s homes.

Medisource has about 150 staff, including nurse practitioners, doctors, healthcare practice support staff and doctor’s assistants. They are among others deployed in home healthcare settings, at GPs, Municipal Health Services (GGD) and Mental Health Care (GGZ) institutions, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. Mediq Direct already uses the services of Medisource. The head office will continue to be located in Rijswijk. Medisource’s sales amounted to around € 5 million in 2009.

The acquisition of Medisource enables all business units of Mediq to deploy nurse practitioners directly if required.
