Mediq completes acquisition in Germany
The German competition authority has approved Mediq’s acquisition of assist. The acquisition will make Mediq the second player in the German market.
assist covers Germany supplying medical devices for tube feeding, infusion therapy, ostomy, incontinence and wound care to patients at home. Mediq is already active in these areas in other countries. To date, in Germany Mediq only supplies devices to diabetes patients.
Mediq announced the acquisition in a press release on 9 November 2011. In 2010 assist generated sales of € 70 million. The results of assist will be consolidated as per today.
