Mediq strengthens market position in Norway
Mediq, international supplier of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, has acquired the Norwegian company Medicus Plesner AS. Medicus Plesner supplies medical devices to patients (‘direct’). This acquisition significantly strengthens Mediq’s market position in Norway.
Medicus Plesner offers an integrated concept combining medical supplies (in the fields of ostomy, incontinence, urology and enteral nutrition) and pharmaceuticals. In 2010 Medicus Plesner generated sales of € 16 million. The company employs 69 people.
This acquisition is clearly complementary to Mediq Norge’s portfolio. There is potential for synergies, especially in logistics and sourcing.
Jesper Boysen, Executive vice president of Mediq Direct & Institutional: ”We are very excited about this acquisition. It clearly fits our strategic goal of further growth of the direct and institutional activities. Medicus Plesner is a healthy, well-managed company with substantial growth potential. It significantly strengthens our market position on the direct market in Norway,. I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new colleagues.”
