Mediq will appeal decision Utrecht District Court
Mediq, international supplier of medical devices and pharmaceuticals, absolutely disagrees with the decision rendered by the Utrecht District Court that Mediq may no longer use its logos and house style in the Netherlands. Mediq will appeal the decision.
In 2005, SVT helped Mediq design its house style and logo. SVT asserts that Mediq was allowed to use them for pharmacies in the Netherlands only. The arrangements laid down at the time are open to several interpretations. Mediq holds the view that the use of its logo and house style is not limited to Mediq pharmacies in the Netherlands.
The District Court has prohibited Mediq from using the logos and house style of all business units in the Netherlands, giving Mediq three months to put the decision into effect.
Mediq absolutely disagrees with the decision. The dispute is basically about small-scale use of the logo and the house style abroad. As a consequence, Mediq may no longer use the logos and house style in the Netherlands. The consequences of the decision for Mediq are many times larger than SVT's financial interests in the case.
